MLTA Continuing Education Minimize

Inclement Weather Policy
In the event that the government offices are closed in the county in which the class is being held, on the day of the class, the class will be cancelled. If opening is delayed, the seminar will be held at its regularly scheduled date and time.
Rescheduling will be determined later.

We offer 3 categories of CE courses:
Monthly Classes, Nuts and Bolts (basic courses series), and Take Home Courses.

Under MIA rules, you may take no more than 8 of the required 16 CE hours by correspondence. At least 8 of your CE hours must be taken in a classroom lecture setting.

Please check the course number carefully to insure that you are not repeating a class, as many courses have similar titles.
If you have taken this exact course number class before, you may take the class again, but you will not receive CE credit if you take a class with an identical course number more than once in your 2-year license renewal period.

Note: Class Attendees who arrive fifteen minutes or more after the speaker has begun will get no credit for that session.

NUTS & BOLTS - this series will begin again in 2012.
A continuing education program designed to teach the basics of the residential real estate transaction.
The three classes may be taken in any order.

This program is offered in 3 parts and is presented as a follow-up to the Pre-licensing course. It is designed as a basic training course where new licensees can learn the anatomy of a closing, or where an employer can send new employees to learn how to perform in their new positions, or as a refresher course for experienced staff. Each course has been approved by Thomson Prometric for 4 hours of MD CE credit for those attendees maintaining a license.

COURSE ONE: INTRODUCTION TO PRE-CLOSING
Participants will learn how to process a transaction from the opening of the file up to the closing.

COURSE TWO: THE CLOSING
Participants will learn how to conduct a closing, including what to do, what not to do, how to explain specific documents, how to properly perform the duties of a notary public and the licensed closer's general role in the transaction.

COURSE THREE: POST-CLOSING
Participants will learn how to process a file from immediately after the closing until the file is closed and sent to storage.

 Take Home Courses - CE As Indicated Per Course

To renew your Title Producer license, you must have 16 hours of CE credit every 2 years. Three of the 16 hours must be in the category of Ethics.
MLTA offers a 3-hour Ethics take home course that will meet the new requirement.

We have these Take Home courses available through 2012. You may take up to 8 hours of the required 16 in this take home format. At least 8 of your 16 required hours must be live, classroom hours.
