John Gerard Gilbert, Sr.

Education and Background:

John earned his Law Degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law in Baltimore, Maryland in 1985.  He also received a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Cum Laude in Political Science from Loyola College of Baltimore, Maryland in 1981.  Additionally, in 1977 John graduated from West Morris Mt. Olive High School in Budd Lake, New Jersey.

Membership, Achievements, Publications, etc:

John is admitted to the practice of law in Maryland and the District of Columbia and is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and the District of Columbia Bar Association. John sits on the Maryland Land Title Association’s Board of Directors as the Underwriter Section Chair. John has received the distinguished designation of Certified Land Title Professional from the Maryland Land Title Association. John continues to pen educational seminars and presents those seminars as an instructor for both the Maryland Land Title Association's continuing education programs and their 30 hour prelicensing course.  John presently is the Director of the Maryland Land Title Association’s 30 Hour Pre-Licensing Course. John has also authored and presented several approved Maryland Association of Realtors, Inc.® continuing education seminars to real estate agents throughout Maryland.  Additionally, John's article entitled, "Chapter 13 Bankruptcy and Debtor's Attempt to Sell or Refinance Prior to Discharge or Dismissal" was published in the Maryland State Bar Association Real Property Section's Volume 6 Number 1, January 2003, Newsletter.  John served as an executive board member of the District of Columbia Land Title Association for the years 2001 and 2002.
