Education Committee Meeting Notes
March 2, 2011

 March 17th – Southern Maryland Chapter – 44 registered at the time of our meeting
• April 7th  – Leadership Event  – Maritime Institute
   Handled by Technology committee
    Will be offering 3 hours of CE credit
     1 hr – Always Audit Ready
     2 hrs - Fraud
  Board Members please let Margaret know if you will be attend, hint, hint!!!!

• May -   Locations:
• 3rd – Kent Manor Inn
• 17th - Columbus Gardens  
                        Topics:
• Foreclosure/Short Sales/REO – Eric S. – 2 hrs.
• Claims – Mark S. – 2 hrs.–Still waiting for confirmation from Mark Lynch
• Bankruptcy – Shawn Goldfaden – 2 hrs.
• IRS – Mark Lynch – 1 hr.
• Recordings – Susan Simpson – 1hr. Susan may also teach the Always Audit ready class, if Mark Lynch is unavailable.

DEADLINES:
 Outlines – week of March 14th
 Materials – April 15th

• September Convention:
  Convention committee was held on February 10th. 
  The Theme is Hollywood – A Night at the Oscars.
   Theme contest ended March 1st.  .

Brief summary of the education schedule

Thursday –  7-7:30 – opening and annual meeting
  7:30-9:30 – Murder/Mystery with Mark Borst and Mark Schweitzer
Friday -    9-12 – 1 hr. Legislative Update, 11/2 hrs of Market Conduct Review with    ½ hr presentation from our ALTA representative.
Saturday -  9-12 –Game   
 
• Turf Valley dates have been cancelled for the rest of this year.  Looking into to other venues for next years dates for Nuts & Bolts.

• Goal for the New “Nuts and Bolts” book is January 2012
   Susan Simpson, Richard Sugarmen and Steve Lenet have taken on this project.
