There are many resources available online to assist in researching real property. Websites can disclose vesting deeds, fee simple vs. leasehold, assessed values, tax credits, estates, plats, business entities and more. This course will introduce the agents to helpful websites and instruct them how to navigate and extract information. Using sample properties in Anne Arundel and surrounding counties, this course will show participants how to use public online resources to research real property in MD. The first step will be locating the property’s tax ID number through Maryland SDAT and then tracing chain of title, liens, ground rent, estates, plats, and boundaries through other online resources. Whether listing or showing a property, this course will assist agents in being better prepared to discuss the details of real property and identify potential issues early in the process.
