Why Should You Participate?
Lobbying provides elected and appointed officials with the information they need to make the best decisions for their constituencies. The relationships you can develop along with information and education you can provide may be critical to the decisions that legislators make on issues that concern the title industry. Legislators respond to constituents and to personal contacts. One never knows what may occur in any session, and we want to be prepared to deal in an effective manner with any issues that arise. We want the members of the General Assembly to know who MLTA is and what we stand for, and the way to do that is to introduce ourselves.
What do I need to do?
Sign up! It’s never too early and the best way to make our voices heard in Annapolis is to have an engaged membership. We ask that you plan on arriving no later than 8:30 am and keep your schedule open through at least 1:00 pm as meetings with legislators will be scheduled any time in that timeframe.
While registration is FREE for MLTA members only, we do ask you to consider making a contribution to the MLTA PAC so we can continue to be in front of our lawmakers beyond just Lobby Day.
