Essential Responsibilities include:
• Manage the client experience for real estate agents, loan officers, buyers and sellers 
• Conduct closings in our local office or travel if necessary
• Be involved as needed to coordinate our client's requirements for closing located outside the office 
• Assist in marketing and business development
• Work closely with the operations team leader to ensure the operational function of the office contributes to an excellent client experience

Applicants must possess a high level of customer service skills as well as patience while working with our clients. Applicants must be detail oriented, be good at problem analysis and solving and enjoy being around people.

Candidate must have a car and be able to drive between closing locations throughout DC and Maryland. Day to day job duties could include out of office settlements and business development opportunities. Candidate must have at least one (1) year of relevant experience and a title insurance license for Maryland and DC.

We are seeking a Title Processor/Post Closer I & II to come work with an extremely talented and professional group. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be customer-service driven and able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 

JOB SKILLS/DUTIES SUMMARY:

  • Responsible for all procedures following settlement
  • Balances escrow files
  • Disburses all funds related to a real estate transaction
  • Requires a Title Producer Insurance License

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following with other duties may be assigned.
Level I:

  • Remains cognizant of and adheres to credit union policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act. 
  • Reviews, finalizes, scans and returns lenders closing packages as soon as possible but no later than 48 hours after receiving from closer
  • Prepares package for disbursement - balances the file, compares the disbursement ledger to the CD and the ALTA Settlement Statement to ensure they match, verifies all numbers and addresses are correct prior to disbursement.
  • Prints all checks to be signed and verified by the designated check signers.
  • Assures all payoffs go out the same day the file is disbursed via wire or UPS to their respective lender.
  • Sends out payment for all invoices associated with file via UPS or regular mail.
  • Inputs all outgoing wires into online banking system and notifies management they are ready to approve.
  • Orders title updates (bringdowns) prior to or at the time of closing to ensure there are no intervening liens.
  • Prepares documents for recording making sure all necessary forms are attached and uploads documents to be recorded to online system for e-recording or sends documents to Abstractor or other recording officer.
  • Verifies recording fees are accurate prior to recording and makes appropriate corrections.
  • Obtains, records and tracks all mortgage releases associated with loan payoffs.
  • Tracks all documents in recording pipeline to assure timely recording and appropriate and immediate handling of rejections.
  • Prepares and delivers final title polices to lenders and borrowers (where applicable)..
  • Communicates with members, borrowers, lenders and other clients on all post-closing issues.
  • May act as back-up to the Title Insurance Processor I position.

Level II: (All the responsibilities of the level I):

  • May act as a back-up to the Title Insurance Processor II position. 
  • In order to qualify for the Disbursement Processor/Post Closer level II, the incumbent must have the knowledge and skills to perform the level II duties of the Title Insurance Process position.

Skills Needed: COMMUNICATION SKILLS - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to members and before groups of employees of the organization and to present a professional image at all times. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. REASONING ABILITY - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES - Typing, 10 key calculator, telephone, personal computer, Microsoft Outlook, Excel Beginner and Word beginner level. Knowledge and experience using the TitleExpress title software system is a plus.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two years of experience with a Settlement Agency as a disbursement processor/post closer.
